For years I put off remodeling and redecorating my kitchen, powder room, dining and living rooms because I felt I had no eye for design and didn’t know where to begin. I was also afraid of hiring a decorator because I feared hiring someone who would ridicule and throw out all of my existing furniture, and force me to spend a fortune on new décor that might be magazine worthy but wouldn’t be a good fit for me and my lifestyle. Fortunately, I met Lissa from Ellicott Interiors and I was immediately comfortable with her and her approach. Not only was she patient with me, since I at first hadn’t a clue as to what I wanted to do and how much I wanted to spend (thank goodness she didn’t run the other way!), she worked with me over time to discuss my likes and dislikes so we could pick paint colors, fabrics and materials. With her guidance I became more confident in making decisions with my remodelers, although I always checked with her before making a final decision. Lissa used most of my existing furniture along with gorgeous finds from consignment stores along with her terrific network of craftsmen who created and installed beautiful upholstered pieces, draperies, etc… to design the home of my dreams. Every day, when I walk into my kitchen, my powder room, my dining room and my living room, I still can’t believe what Lissa designed – it looks like something out of a magazine, yet it is comfortable, livable, and fits and feels perfect for me.

Lissa was recommended to me by a co-worker and friend. It was just before Christmas of “08 and I wanted to give our adult children a memorable gift. Since one had just moved into a “builder white” new home and the other was trying to balance toddler toys and equipment organization, it occurred to me that they both might really appreciate a consultation with an interior designer. Lissa was terrific. The colors she suggested for our daughter’s new home are simply stunning, and the furniture and room layout suggestions for our son’s home helped maximize their living spaces. Each family was thrilled with the gift. My husband and I moved into a new home 3 years ago but were intimidated in selecting colors for the main living area due to the strong architectural elements – we did not want to live with a bad choice! Once again, I called Lissa who was, as always, so kind and helpful. The scheme in our home is perfect – the lofts and angles are accentuated by color contrasts that make the home seem larger and so much more interesting! I think what Lissa does best is to listen to the homeowner’s wishes, observe the current décor and lifestyle, then make educated suggestions based on existing furniture and belongings. Lissa’s work does not involve throwing everything out and buying something new. Rather, your own prized possessions will be beautifully included in a new, creative but livable design. I would, and have, recommended Lissa to several friends who loved our new look, and will definitely call on her again when the need arises.

We have been so pleased to have Lissa Bounds of Ellicott Interiors help us decorate our condominium. Her knowledge of fabrics and wall colors is fantastic – there is no other word. My husband and myself hired Lissa on more that one occassion to seek her expert advise for our custom home interior design.

After being in our home for more than 11 years we stll had the original paint-one color throughout. Lissa helped us to select color choices that would compliment from room to room, added grass cloth (hand woven from India) and even helped us step out of the box by applying wallpaper in the tray ceilng of our dining room. She has a gifted eye for color and expecially where to set the boundaries for each color to accent the unique architecture of our contemporary style home. She referred us to qualified paint and wall paper contractorers and helped us to select a foyer rug that is exquisite and has held up quite well over the past few years.

We invited her back recently to once again help us with colors in our newly finished basement. She also worked with us in the selection of the wood cabinets for the kitchenett, floor tiles and woven carpet. We are hoping to invite her soon for dinner and offer her the opportunity to take some "after" photos of the finished project. With her help, we have created a modern "Wow!" basement.

I honestly appreciated her Christian values and the personal attention she gives us each time she visits. At the same time, she offers a level of professionalism and customer service that is so hard to find these days. Wow! Wonderful half day project completion in placement of furniture, decorative objects, and arrangement of art work and photo displays. Based on my very pleasant experience of some twenty years ago working with Lissa to put together my newly purchased condo unit, I gifted the use of Ellicott Interiors services for a morning as a "house-warming" gift to a friend who was in a new apartment. I related my budget and objectives for making the new apartment look like home using the elements already at hand, or suggesting purchases within a restrictive budget.

What a difference a half day makes!
At the end of our allotted time furniture was rearranged, pictures were on the wall, tablescapes done. My friend was left with a written diagram for arrangement of a photo display, a short list of inexpensive suggested purchases and further written notes and ideas. Job well done! My friend was so impressed at the beautiful transformation of her living space!

We hired Lissa Bounds of Ellicott Interiors to help us when we downsized to a lovely condominium. The condominium was spacious, but boxy and without any interest. Lissa gave us ideas for paint colors and a beautiful wall of grass cloth which added the interest and even some drama that we needed. We needed to keep the furniture that we had, but Lissa found a beautiful English club chair and some end tables for us to complete our living room with comfort and style. She choose a marvelous pattern of tile for our kitchen, along with new lighting fixtures. My husband and I are so happy with the beauty and comfort of our home - and for that we owe a great, great deal to Lissa. She is a delight to work with, personally and professionally.

It was a pleasure to work with Ellicott Interiors. They were very professional, delivered the work as promised, and within cost. When an issue developed with the final product produced by the workroom, Ms. Bounds corrected it immediately at no charge to me. Ms. Bounds was very easy to work with and took our suggestions and melded them with her own, resulting in a final product that was pleasing to us both. The work consisted of interior design of a new master bedroom suite, including draperies, cornices, wall paper and art work. We love it.

Lisa designed my master bath for myself and my husband. I had tried various ideas and could not come up with anything myself. The project took off when I met Lissa and began work with her. Each step was detailed and discussed. She worked almost daily with the contractor on the evolving steps of the design. The project involved plumbing, flooring, tiling, mirror, a gorgeous chandelier and new Jacuzzi hardware! Very involved but a beautiful finished product. I always enjoyed the time spent with Lissa and consider her not only a very talented designer but a friend from the time we spent together.
